As humans, we all will inevitability go through some health challenge even if it’s just a headache. The goal is to become well. Recently, I met someone who was facing a health crisis and felt overwhelmed. I knew what that felt like and I began to share with her what worked for me. As I began to turn to the only help I know, the Word of God, I realized that it was not only prescriptive, but spending time with God and in His word was like taking the proper dosage of medicine. The Word of God is the Believers operating manual, it is our go to source. While following the Doctors orders and extreme self-care were on the list I knew there was more, because I was unsettled in my spirit.
So as I began to study, God gave me 3 things and here they are: 1.Prayer/Read Scriptures pray at least 3 times a day, morning, noon and night. And as an act of obedience and demonstration, began to pray first thing in the morning; as soon as you step out of your bed (put God first). This is demonstrated in Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 2. Flee from anything that is sinful, evil or hurtful to yourself or others;repent ask for forgiveness for anything that you may have done in the past. This will allow you to guard your gates so that the treasure of the holy spirit can do its perfect healing work. Most people don’t think about some of the mindless things that they do or say as being evil or hurtful. But the truth is when you say unkind things to yourself or someone else, that’s considered corrupt communication as noted in Ephesians 4:22. We are reminded 2 Timothy 2:22 to Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Speak peace and love over yourself or loved one. 3. Set the environment in your home, Zechariah was a priest in the temple he lit candles and incense to prepare for worship. Luke 1:10 records; As was the custom of the priests, he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense. In my sanctified mind, Zechariah was the ultimate atmosphere shifter. Get in the habit of playing soothing music, and burning scented candles. This creates an ideal environment for your temple while sending up a wonderful fragrance of praise and worship to the Lord. These are small manageable changes that can allow you to experience a healing peace. The old testament Prophet Isaiah (53:5) said it is by His stripes that we are healed. So ultimately as Believers, we are called to Believe and rest on the finished work of the risen Christ Jesus to heal.
I hope this is a Blessing to You!
